Announcement

Written on 08.03.2010 | Newsblog

We want to inform all our fans that Joachim has left Airbag.

It’s always hard for all involved when these things happen but we wish Joachim all the best for the future. Airbag will continue to work on the follow up to Identity. The recording sessions will start in May and we’re very excited about the new material! Henrik Fossum will be playing drums. He’s an outstanding musician who’s already contributed to the new songs. Henrik also played drums with us in Holland at the iOpages festival last weekend. We will keep you posted on the sessions.

Airbag in Zoetermeer

Written on 03.03.2010 | Newsblog

A big thanks to all our fans in Holland and Zoetermeer for making the show so special! We had a great time playing and meeting everyone! The reception we got was quite beyond what we’d expected and a real energy boost – just what we need when we’re now starting to record the next album!

In addition to a handful of songs from our debut album Identity, we did some new songs that got a great reception. The setlist was as follows:
Feeling Less > Numb (new) > Colours > Steal My Soul > The Bridge (new) > White Walls (new) > No Escape > Sounds That I Hear > Homesick (new)

Check out our Facebook page for pictures and videoclips submitted by our fans!

The show was professionally filmed by the local crew so we hope we can show you some clips when the tapes are ready!

White Walls – new track!

Written on 14.02.2010 | Newsblog

Here’s a brand new song for you! White Walls was recorded at our show at Gamla, Oslo, Norway on October 31. last year. The whole show was recorded for our own reference so the sound quality isn’t the best but we wanted to give those of you who didn’t get to see us a little taste of what we’re working on at the moment. Please forgive us for all the mistakes and let us know what you think!

White Walls was written last spring. We actually performed it at the Identity release show – just days after we arranged it. It’s been a favorite for all of us since then and it’s a strong candidate for the next album. We feel it has Airbag written all over it and something new as well and we can’t wait to get into the studio and start recording. Hope you enjoy!

Identity peaks on 2009 polls!

Written on 19.01.2010 | Newsblog

2009 has been a fantastic year! The success of our debut album Identity exceeded all our hopes and anticipations and we’re extremely happy that the album continues to reach new audiences around the world. A heartfelt thanks to all of your fans for your support!

Identity peaks as best debut album of the year!
Polish Metal Hammer’s leading journalist Artur Chachlowski has chosen Identity as the best debut album of 2009!

““Identity” is full of extraordinary music and this less than an hour of its playing time is a true feast with magical atmosphere for the fans of good music. For me, this album is a sure candidate for the title of the best debut of 2009. What’s more, I can feel that no matter how strong the competition is, “Identity” will surely be among my favorite albums of this year.”
- Metal Hammer/ Artur Chachlowski

Identity voted 4. best prog album of 2009!
Polish Radio station MLWZ’s listeners has voted Identity the 4. best prog album of 2009 only beaten by Gazpacho, Riverside and Porcupine Tree! The list includes impressive names like Dream Theater, Steve Hackett, Sylvan and Muse. A big thanks to all our friends in Poland!

Identity available on Burning Shed web-shop!
We’re extremely proud to announce that our album is now available for international mail-order on the Burning Shed web-shop! Burning Shed was founded by NoMan vocalist Tim Bowness in 2001. Since its launch the store has been the main source of NoMan and Porcupine Tree releases as well as a place to find music that relates to the genre. Visit Burning Shed.

Download 4 live tracks!

Written on 16.12.2009 | Newsblog

Download four tracks from our show at Gamla, Oslo, Norway on October 31st 2009! We recorded the show for our own reference with just two mics hanging from the cieling but it sounded good enough to share it as a bootleg! This is raw and honest with all its flaws and spontaneity but you’ll get to hear how some of the songs has evolved since we recorded them. Hope you enjoy!

The show was a chance for us to say thanks for making Identity a success and to try out some of our new songs – possible candidates for the new Airbag album. Download the songs for free to your PC or Mac on our Music & Downloads page.

We wish all of our fans a merry x-mas and all the best for 2010!
